Mission Statement
Ithaca Youth Hockey Association, Inc. is a 501(c)3 organization that promotes and supports youth hockey in Ithaca, NY and the surrounding area. The Ithaca Youth Hockey Association is a NYS Tier II Central Section association, recognized state-wide as a comprehensive, engaging, organization of youth hockey, running consecutively for over 65 years. Ithaca Youth Hockey Association’s priority is to provide a safe and inclusive environment for all players and families - acknowledging and celebrating differences in race, color, religion, origin, gender expression or identity, ability, sexual orientation, and socio-economic status.
We are committed to providing opportunities for youth to learn to skate and play hockey, experience recreational House and/or Snowbelt leagues, or seek higher level, competitive Travel hockey.
Ithaca Youth Hockey Association coaches, volunteers, board members, and administrators are purposeful in cultivating experiences for youth in sport, practicing mindfulness surrounding accountability and cultural humility, and engaging in consistent reflection and evaluation of the organization’s efforts.
Ithaca Youth Hockey Association's Mission Statement is merely an outline - a fluid approach to meet individual, family, organizational, and larger community needs. We, as an association, aim to work with our community toward equitable access to youth hockey at all levels.
